Happy Programming Guide is a free programming resource for beginners and people who are still finding their footing. Everything here is written to be read by someone who is stuck, not by someone who already knows the answer.

We also publish a set of free interactive tools. They run entirely in your browser, need no account, and nothing you enter is sent to us.
How we write#
- The answer comes first. No four-paragraph introduction before the point.
- Short examples you can run. Not fragments that assume forty lines of missing context.
- Common mistakes are called out. Knowing the trap in advance is worth more than a perfect explanation.
- Plain language. Jargon is explained the first time it appears, or avoided.
- We say when something is a preference. A lot of programming advice is taste presented as fact.

What we will never claim#
This matters enough to state plainly:
- We make no promises about jobs, salaries or income. Nobody can honestly make those.
- We do not offer certification, and nothing here is accredited.
- We do not invent prices, ratings, specifications or testing results for products. Where we discuss equipment, we explain what to compare and tell you to check current listings yourself.
- We do not present AI-assisted output as tested fact. See our AI coding disclaimer.
How the site is funded#

Corrections#
Programming content goes out of date, and we get things wrong like everyone else. If you spot an error, an outdated example or an explanation that does not make sense, please tell us on the contact page. Corrections are made promptly and we would rather be corrected than left wrong.
